What do I need to know in order to earn a merit badge?

Step 1 - Research the Merit Badge or loop/pin
Step 2 - Express your interest to earn a particular Merit Badge or Loop in one of the weekly meetings
Step 3 - Seek approve from the Scoutmaster if you are a Boy Scout and the Cubmaster if you are a Cub Scout
Step 4 - The Cub or Boy scoutmaster will find an approved merit badge counselor to assist you in achieving the badge or loop.

The merit badges we're currently working to achieve are the Geocaching and Public Speaking Merit badges for the Boy Scouts and Map and Compass loops for the cub scouts (bear).

To earn a merit badge you must complete all requirements in the merit badge pamphlet and answer all questions from the correlated Merit Badge worksheet. These worksheets are used to assist you in finding and understanding key points within the Merit Badge pamphlet and organizing those point along with your thoughts in preparation for discussing them with the approved merit badge counselor. For your convenience, links to the Geocaching and Public Speaking worksheets (boy scouts) and Map and Compass for the cub scouts have been provided. Other worksheets can be found at
